Wolf Creek Reboot Gets Official Title, John Jarratt to Return

As a dedicated fan of the Wolf Creek franchise, I can hardly contain my excitement about the upcoming reboot! With John Jarratt reprising his chilling role as Mick Taylor and Greg McLean returning as producer, it feels like coming home to an old friend who’s just had a fresh makeover. The title, Wolf Creek: Legacy, hints at the continuation of the terrifying tale, and I can hardly wait to see how this new story unfolds.

The revival of “Wolf Creek” has been confirmed, with John Jarratt slated to resume his role as the ruthless outback killer, Mick Taylor.

Approximately twenty years have passed since the initial Wolf Creek movie premiered in Australian theaters, and now, we can confirm that a third Wolf Creek film is in development. The original creator of the Wolf Creek franchise, Greg Mclean, will also be producing this upcoming third installment.

What is the Wolf Creek reboot’s title?

They’ve named the upcoming reboot of Wolf Creek as “Wolf Creek: Legacy”. Jeremy Bolt, known for his work on Resident Evil, is involved in this project, and it seems Sean Lahiff from Wolf Creek 2 will be directing. Bianca Martino and Kristian Moliere (from The Babadook) are producers, while Cory Todd Hughes and Adrian Speckert are joining as executive producers.

As a gaming enthusiast speaking about my favorite pastime, I’m thrilled to share that Jay Ryan, known for his roles in It Chapter Two and Scrublands, is jumping into the game alongside the talented crew behind the upcoming movie. They’re still on the lookout for more exceptional players to join our team!

In 2005, the first movie of Wolf Creek was unveiled, featuring Cassandra Magrath, Kestie Morassi, and Nathan Phillips in leading roles. This initial film led to a sequel titled Wolf Creek 2, released in 2013 with Ryan Corr (from Holding the Man) taking on one of the main parts. Additionally, Wolf Creek had a small screen adaptation that lasted for two seasons between 2016 and 2017.

Jarratt has played serial killer Mick Taylor in all Wolf Creek installments, including the television series.

According to the summary, Wolf Creek: Legacy will focus on a group of American tourists who unwittingly stumble into Taylor’s hunting territory. When the parents courageously give themselves up to protect their children, the kids are left stranded, lost, and pursued in the massive Australian wilderness. The question is whether these two cunning, resilient young adults (Zoomers) will prove too challenging for the aging predator to overcome.

“I’m thrilled about this fresh installment in the Wolf Creek tale – it’s an adventurous narrative that respects the foundation of the series while venturing into unexplored realms,” McLean expressed in a statement.
