On April 14, 2025, the former contestant of Dancing with the Stars found themselves in custody at Broward County Jail. They were freed on Tuesday morning following their payment of a $500 bond.

According to jail records, William Levy faced two charges: one for “behaving disorderly due to drunkenness in a public area” and another for “unlawfully entering private property.” The Broward Sheriff’s Office also reported that he was causing a commotion while under the influence of alcohol in a public space. Afterward, the Cuban-American actor conversed with journalists and clarified his predicament. According to CBS News, the 44-year-old disclosed that he found himself embroiled in someone else’s dispute at Baires Grill, Weston. He also dismissed any speculation about him attacking a restaurant staff member.

The actor openly stated that he intervened to stop a dispute. “It’s clear on their cameras, there was an argument,” Levy said. “I stepped in to prevent things from getting worse, and I ended up being handcuffed instead.” He also made it clear that, despite having some drinks, he was not drunk.

Additionally, a video posted on Instagram by journalist Maria Fernanda Lopez shows Levy stating, “I managed to keep my cool throughout. It turned out that I was the one who needed to depart.” Regarding the rumors about trespassing, he said, “Apparently, they had no choice but to detain me for something.
