In simple terms, Call of Duty Zombies has become one of the most beloved cooperative experiences within the entire series. With Black Ops 6, they brought back the traditional round-based gameplay and a treasure trove of hidden Easter eggs to discover as you battle against waves of undead enemies.
Ever since the Citadelle des Morts map came with the Season 1 Reloaded update, players entering the medieval castle have been growing weary due to numerous bugs disrupting gameplay. Despite Treyarch’s claim during the January 3 update that they fixed a bug allowing Vermin to attack twice in one strike, it appears that issue persists.
Black Ops 6 Vermin bug continues causing chaos
Although Activision asserted that they had resolved the Vermin bug in Black Ops 6, developer Treyarch later disclosed that the problem remained unaddressed, causing frustration among the game’s fans.
On the Black Ops 6 Zombies game map, creatures called Vermin skitter across the ground and inflict massive harm with a single strike. However, players have found that these creatures sometimes strike twice simultaneously, making the challenge even more intense.
Treyarch clarifies that there was an error in the patch notes for the January 3rd Zombies update, as Vermin wasn’t actually resolved. They promise to rectify this issue during Season 2.

As per the developer’s Trello board that monitors problems with Black Ops 6, the solution was initially slated for release during the massive January 3 update. However, due to unexpected complications, the fix is now set to be rolled out as part of the Season 2 update, scheduled for launch on January 28.
It’s quite aggravating when Vermin launch two assaults on Citadelle des Morts, particularly if you’ve progressed to a significant round and can’t respond swiftly enough to the creatures darting about the castle. Even seasoned gamers have found it challenging due to the increased attack speed.
One of many issues
Besides the pests problem on the third Black Ops 6 Zombie map, there are other concerns. For instance, when using an Elemental Sword in specific situations, the game may unexpectedly crash. Additionally, you might find that certain visual effects are not functioning correctly across parts of the map, which can spoil the overall ambiance.
Before Season 2 starts, the game Citadelle des Morts has become impossible to play due to its current state. With fast reflexes being the only defense against overpowered Vermin, it might be beneficial for players to revisit Terminus or Liberty Falls instead if they’re seeking a bug-free Zombies match.
