What Happened to Mike Peters? The Alarm Frontman Passes Away

It has been reported that Mike Peters, who fronted the Welsh rock band The Alarm, has sadly passed away. Throughout his career, Peters was also involved with various other music projects such as Dead Men Walking, The Jack Tars, Big Country, Hairy Hippie, and the Toilets. Furthermore, he co-founded Love Hope Strength, a charitable foundation that supports research for leukaemia and other forms of cancer.

Mike Peters passes away at 66, claims report

On April 29, 2025, Mike Peters passed away due to complications from leukemia. He was 66 years old. As reported by The Guardian, he had been undergoing treatment at the Christie NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester, England. His loving wife, Jules, and their sons Dylan and Evan, were by his side.

Since the ’90s, Peters has been battling a health issue. In 1995, doctors initially identified lymphoma in him. However, he made a full recovery within a year and continued his career as a musician. In 2005, he was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL). Remission was achieved by the time the documentary Mike Peters on the Road was released in 2006.

In September 2022, Peters announced that his Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) had returned, and he was resuming treatment. Two years later, it was shared through BBC that he had gone into remission. However, by early December 2024, he disclosed that he was undergoing chemotherapy to achieve a complete remission before receiving a Stem Cell Transplant from an unrelated donor. By January 2025, there were reports that he had received CAR-T Therapy.

Originally from Prestatyn, Wales, Peters found his musical footing in the 70s. As a band member with The Alarm, he put out five studio albums: Declaration (1984), Strength (1985), Eye of the Hurricane (1987), Change (1989), and Raw (1991).
