Valorant 2025 roadmap – Riot kills Episodes in massive release change

2022 is seeing Valorant make a spectacular start to the new year! Soon, we’ll welcome Agent 27, Tejo, and along with him, a fresh battle pass and the debut of Flex. Although it might seem like Episode 10 Act 1, it’s not quite that due to adjustments by Riot Games. This overhaul is part of the Valorant 2025 vision, where you can learn more about these significant changes within the roadmap.

The scheduled launch time for Tejo and the latest battle pass has been decided, and the new character looks incredibly stylish, as highlighted in Riot’s gameplay trailer. They are introduced as the 27th agent within the collection showcase, and they seem to be continuing the legacies of Clove and Vyse, who joined the team in 2024.

As I step into the new year, I’m pumped about the fresh addition of a new playable character Riot Games is introducing in Valorant! And to make things even more exciting, they’ve spilled the beans on some massive changes coming our way that are set to completely reshape the game and its 2025 roadmap. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

Valorant 2025 roadmap

For 2025, the Valorant roadmap veers away from previous formats by doing away with Episodes. Instead, Riot Games has chosen to structure their multiplayer shooter around yearly seasons. The upcoming season is referred to as Season 2025 or V25.

In the updated seasonal structure, Riot Games continues to roll out acts every so often, with a total of six acts planned for each year. These acts correspond to significant play phases, similar to what they currently offer, including ranked matches, battle passes, map changes, and Premier tournament stages.

It hasn’t been specified yet how long each act will run, but given that Riot aims to roll out six acts annually, a reasonable estimation might be around two months per act. Moreover, Riot has announced that they are shifting Valorant Champions towards an October release to enhance the overall rhythm and flow of events throughout the year.

During the initial part of 2025, Riot has made it clear that they will be making adjustments to balance their agents. At present, Riot has only disclosed their intention to redistribute power within Iso’s abilities and to enhance Deadlock with a more aggressive capability.

Based on all of the above details, the Valorant 2025 roadmap so far looks as follows:

  • Act 1 – January
  • Act 2 – March
  • Act 3 – May
  • Act 4 – July
  • Act 5 – September
  • Valorant Champions – October
  • Act 6 – November
  • Agent changes
    • Iso – first half of 2025
    • Deadlock – first half of 2025
