Toxic Town Trailer: Doctor Who’s Jodie Whittaker Leads Netflix Miniseries

Netflix unveiled a sneak peek of the upcoming limited series titled “Toxic Town,” inspired by a true event that shook the United Kingdom as one of its major environmental scandals. This gripping drama is set to premiere for streaming on February 27, 2025.

This drama narrates the tales of those entwined in the Corby poisonings case. It primarily concentrates on the mothers, who embarked on an epic struggle for justice reminiscent of David versus Goliath, chronicling their years-long fight as a shocking truth unfolds.

What happens in the Toxic Town trailer?

The video showcases Jodie Whittaker, formerly Doctor Who, portraying Susan McIntyre. As she heads a band of mothers, they stand up for justice against Corby Borough Council following their discovery that the waste produced during steelworks restoration has affected their kids negatively. Alongside Whittaker, the ensemble also includes Aimee Lou Wood from Sex Education (Tracey Taylor) and Claudia Jessie from Bridgerton (Maggie Mahon).

Titled “Toxic Town,” this series was created and overseen by Jack Thorne. Minkie Spiro takes on the role of director, while Robert Carlyle (“The Full Monty”), Rory Kinnear (“The Diplomat”), Stephen McMillan (“Boiling Point”), Lauren Lyle (“Outlander”), Joe Dempsie (“Game of Thrones”), Michael Socha (“This Is England”), Brendan Coyle (“Downton Abbey”), Matthew Durkan (“Wedding Season”), and Karla Crome (“Carnival Row”) make up the main cast. This 4-part miniseries is executive produced by Annabel Jones, Minkie Spiro, Charlie Brooker, and Euros Lyn, with Delyth Scudamore and Patricia Tookey-Dickson serving as producers.
