The popular anthology series on Prime Video titled “Secret Level” has indeed been given the green light for a new season! It’s official – further exciting journeys are in store.
Based on reports from Variety, Amazon confirms that the premiere season of “Secret Level” was a massive success for their streaming service, breaking records as their most-viewed debut animated series within its first week since launch. At this point, there’s no public announcement about Season 2, leaving us in the dark about what future stories and projects the show might explore.
What is Secret Level about?
The show, originating from the same creative minds behind the successful Netflix anthology series Love Death + Robots, presents 15 unique tales embedded in the realms of popular video game universes. Tim Miller, renowned for directing Deadpool, has spearheaded and overseen its creation, with Dave Wilson additionally serving as an executive producer and primary director.
The initial run of the television series showcased a renowned ensemble voice cast, including Arnold Schwarzenegger from the Terminator films, Kevin Hart famous for Jumanji, Keanu Reeves known for John Wick, Temuera Morrison recognized in The Book of Boba Fett, Ariana Greenblatt who stars in Barbie, Emily Swallow well-known in The Mandalorian, and Gabriel Luna prominent in The Last of Us.
The new cast members are Heaven Hart, Ricky Whittle from “American Gods” and “Land of Bad,” Patrick Schwarzenegger known for “The White Lotus,” Merle Dandridge from “The Last of Us,” Claudia Doumit recognized in “The Boys,” Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje who starred in “Lost,” Clive Standen best known for “The Morning Show,” Laura Bailey famous as the voice actress for “The Legend of Vox Machina,” and Michael Beach from “Tulsa King.” This production is brought to you by Amazon MGM Studios and Blur Studio.
The series title announces that it presents unique narratives, all taking place within the universes of popular video games. Each episode is a tribute to gaming culture, with the 15 tales being inspired by such classics as Armored Core, Concord, Crossfire, Dungeons & Dragons, Exodus, Honor of Kings, Mega Man, New World: Aeternum, PAC-MAN, many PlayStation Studios games, Sifu, Spelunky, The Outer Worlds, Unreal Tournament, and Warhammer 40,000.
