As a long-time aficionado of anime and manga, I can hardly contain my excitement for the impending release of “Sakamoto Days” on Netflix in early 2025! With TMS Entertainment, the brilliant minds behind “Dr. Stone” and “Baki,” at the helm, I have high expectations for this adaptation of Yuto Suzuki’s manga masterpiece.
Anticipated for quite some time, the anime version of the popular Japanese manga “Sakamoto Days” will eventually arrive, but not until next year. Specifically, it’s set to premiere on Netflix in January 2025.
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled about the upcoming Netflix anime titled “Sakamoto Days,” which shares its name with Yuto Suzuki’s manga. What makes this even more exciting is that TMS Entertainment, the creative minds behind hits like “Dr. Stone” and “Baki,” will be responsible for its production and animation. To top it off, Masaki Watanabe, famous for his work on “Kado: The Right Answer,” will helm the project as director. This promising combination has me eagerly awaiting its release!
The anime centers on Taro Sakamoto, a former assassin with legendary status, who has settled into a peaceful life as a family man. However, his tranquil existence is threatened when enemies from his past return for vengeance. In order to safeguard himself and his loved ones, Sakamoto is compelled to emerge from retirement to neutralize those who seek his demise.
The voice ensemble features popular Japanese voice artists like Tomokazu Sugita (playing Taro Sakamoto), Nobunaga Shimazaki (as Shin Asakura), Ayane Sakura (portraying Lu Shaotang), Nao Toyama (Aoi Sakamoto’s role), Hina Kino (Hana Sakamoto character), and Ryota Suzuki (Heisuke Mashimo).

A definite launch date for it hasn’t been disclosed as of now, but we’re optimistic that it might debut in early January 2025. Here’s what we can confirm: The entire first season won’t come out all at once; instead, one episode will be made available weekly on Netflix. As soon as the release schedule is finalized, we’ll keep you updated.
