Wondering what led to Bravo deciding to let go of Kenya Moore from The Real Housewives of Atlanta? Her sudden departure after over a decade on the show has ignited intense discussions among both fans and industry insiders. The controversy surrounding her exit originates from an unsettling incident involving explicit photos of one of her co-stars.
Let’s discuss the details surrounding Moore’s dismissal, the sequence of events that led up to it, and what lies ahead for her and the program.
Here’s why Kenya Moore was fired from Real Housewives of Atlanta
It’s said that Kenya Moore was let go from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, following accusations she shared inappropriate photos of Brittany Eady.
At the inauguration of Kenya Moore’s Hair Spa on June 6th, posters displaying explicit content of Eady engaging in oral sex with an unknown man were displayed, as Bravo TV cameras captured the incident. Eady was not present at the event. On June 25th, People magazine confirmed that Moore was suspended indefinitely, and by the end of the month, Bravo officially terminated her.
During an interview with Tamron Hall on November 14, Moore spoke about the incident, saying, “Looking back, I’d say hindsight is 50-50. If given another chance, I believe those photos were inappropriate and escalated the situation.” She further explained, “I’ve escalated situations before, and I’ve owned up to my actions.” Moore also added, “I didn’t need to react that strongly,” but emphasized that she felt “endangered” and was defending herself and her child.
According to a source speaking to Entertainment Tonight, it’s said that someone discovered explicit images online. Moore asserted that she reacted because Eady supposedly used the term “gun” in a threatening manner. However, a production insider refuted this claim, stating unequivocally that neither Kenya nor any weapon was ever threatened or present during the production process.
A source shared with LoveBScott that Bravo never accused Kenya of revenge porn; instead, the investigation focused on whether Kenya’s actions concerning sexually explicit images breached the code of conduct, which they did. Another source revealed that not only did Kenya obtain these photos from somewhere, but she also had posters made from them.
Later on, Moore clarified her stance on X, stating, “I’d never partake in the sharing of intimate photos without consent. I’ve never disseminated private images or videos of anyone.” She further emphasized, “I’ve always been proven right. Unfortunately, I can’t discuss STORY, as there are people spreading false information about it.
