Dhanush calls out Nayanthara-Vignesh Shivan for unprofessionalism on NRD sets, seeks damages worth crore in ongoing legal fight

The copyright dispute between Nayanthara and Dhanush has grown more intricate, as Dhanush filed a lawsuit against the actress. This came after she incorporated footage from the sets of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, a film produced by Dhanush, in her documentary without his consent.

More recent events have intensified the conflicts, as Dhanush decided to continue with the primary lawsuit against the actress in the ongoing copyright dispute. In support of his actions, his film production company, Wunderbar Films, has demanded a compensation of 1 crore rupees from Nayanthara and the creators of the documentary.

This action is taken after the court declined the request for a temporary restraining order, given that the actress’s documentary was already made public, even though the case is still under legal proceedings.

Moreover, in his court document, submitted for Wunderbar Films, actor Dhanush has additionally leveled allegations of unprofessional conduct against actress Nayanthara and her husband, Vignesh Shivan, during the filming of Naanum Rowdy Dhaan.

In a statement, Dhanush claimed that instead of giving equal attention to all actors, Vignesh focused on having numerous reshoots for Nayanthara’s scenes in order to guarantee her performances were top-notch.

As reported by Times Now, the affidavit indicated that “Mr. Shivan, one of the defendants, disproportionately focused his attention on the third defendant (Ms. Nayanthara), during filming, by repeatedly rehearsing scenes with her to secure an outstanding performance, at the expense of giving equal consideration to other cast and crew members.

For anyone not aware, the current key issue in this case will be heard again on April 9, 2025.

For a while now, there’s been a persistent disagreement between Nayanthara and Dhanush that has escalated. They’ve expressed their concerns openly by posting letters addressed to each other on various social media platforms.
