What did Neeson say about The Ice Road 2?
In regards to The Ice Road 2, Neeson mentioned that the story takes place in Nepal, with scenes depicting winding roads ascending into the Himalayas and Mount Everest. Interestingly, they filmed it in Melbourne, which presented some challenging days, as he put it. However, it was great to reunite the team once more. He hinted at a few unexpected elements. Overall, he believes it’ll turn out to be an engaging movie.
72-year-old Neeson candidly shared insights on his experience as a working actor in Hollywood. He expressed gratitude for the fulfilling roles he’s been offered and continued to feel honored to be part of the industry.
Neeson acknowledged he’s had an incredible amount of luck throughout his career. At 72, he continues to receive scripts for roles. Sometimes he fights, sometimes he doesn’t. He feels incredibly fortunate and deeply appreciative when he receives a great script. There are many that he quickly declines, but he’s still lucky enough to be offered them.
In the following installment, Liam Neeson will once again take on the character of ice road driver Mike McCann. This time, he’s heading to Nepal to fulfill his late brother’s wish of scattering his ashes at Mt. Everest. The plot summary for the movie goes like this: On a crowded tour bus navigating the treacherous 12,000 ft. Road to the Sky, McCann and his mountain guide run into a band of Nepalese mercenaries. They find themselves in a struggle not just for their own survival and that of the bus full of passengers, but also to protect the homeland of the local villagers from these mercenaries.
Joining Liam Neeson once more is writer-director Jonathan Hensleigh in the upcoming film. The original movie featured Liam Neeson, Benjamin Walker, Amber Midthunder, Marcus Thomas, Laurence Fishburne, and several others, but it remains undecided if any of them will reprise their roles for the sequel.
The main theme of the original film revolved around a diamond mine accident in the north of Canada. Facing challenges from melting waters and a fierce storm, they uncover a danger that they hadn’t anticipated beforehand.
