Why fans are annoyed with Anna Devane on General Hospital
Audience felt disappointed with how Anna Devane conducted the investigation concerning Valentin’s case. Many viewers found her actions questionable, as she resorted to pressuring Martin into revealing Valentin’s whereabouts despite the fact that she herself had played a role in Valentin’s escape.
Anna Devane has shared a romantic past with Valentin, and when she discovered that WSB intended to capture him, she took significant steps to help him escape their grasp. She secretly informed him of the impending arrest warrant against him, which resulted in his departure from town together with Charlotte. This occurred while Lulu Spencer was unconscious in a coma, but now that she’s awake, she yearns to reunite with her daughter. As a result, Anna is relentless in her pursuit to locate Valentin and Charlotte no matter the cost.
In the most recent installment, Anna Devane embarks on a search for Valentin’s whereabouts by reaching out to Martin Grey. She presses him for any details he might have about Valentin and his great-niece. Yet, she remains reluctant to acknowledge that Martin lacked knowledge regarding Valentin and his relative. Unconvinced, she resorts to her unconventional tactics to coax him into disclosing the information.
Later on, Martin handed them his phone with Valentin’s contact details and banking information written inside. Yet, he didn’t hesitate to criticize Anna for her questionable methods, further accusing her of participating in the shooting of Charlotte. Nevertheless, the fact that Martin’s phone contained Valentin’s bank details implied he was present in Zurich.
During the entire show, viewers became upset as they perceived Anna’s actions as dubious, feeling she acted as a hypocrite by initially allowing Valentin to flee, only to later pursue him in questionable methods.
