As a die-hard fan of Kamal Haasan, I can’t help but marvel at his extraordinary career and versatility that spans over five decades. From playing the antagonist in Main Hoon Na, which could have been a blockbuster with him opposite SRK, to essaying the role of Yaskin in Kalki 2898 AD, and nailing it yet again in Indian 2, he continues to astound us with his exceptional acting skills.
There’s no need for an introduction when it comes to Kamal Haasan’s impressive body of work. Even now, he boasts a vast and devoted fanbase, with his films often considered timeless masterpieces by critics. However, you might not have known that Haasan was initially cast as the antagonist in Shah Rukh Khan‘s movie “Main Hoon Na.” Let’s delve deeper into this intriguing piece of information.
In a past conversation with India Today, director Farah Khan disclosed that she once reached out to seasoned actor Kamal Haasan about playing the villain in her 2004 movie, Main Hoon Na, which starred Shah Rukh Khan.
Instead of accepting the offer, Kamal Haasan explained that he was engrossed in another project at the time. In her own words, she disclosed that she visited Chennai where Kamal Haasan was gracious enough to meet her and screen some footage from his current film. He also took her to his office for lunch before breaking the news that he couldn’t participate in her film. He shared with her that he was working on a movie about Silk Route instead.
Consequently, since Kamal Haasan declined the offer, Farah Khan subsequently offered the role to Suniel Shetty, who ultimately took on the villain’s part instead.
On a professional level, the actor recently appeared in the movie “Kalki 2898 AD,” directed by Nag Ashwin. He played the villainous character named Yaskin. Once again, his acting skills left fans in awe, as they believed no one else could have executed that role as effectively as him.
Additionally, among his other successful ventures, he excelled in the movie titled Indian 2. This role saw him delivering another outstanding performance that was met with great enthusiasm from the audience. Despite encountering some obstacles during production, the film’s sequel is currently being filmed.
It appears that some sources indicate that Kamal Haasan has traveled to Los Angeles for advanced training in artificial intelligence.
From now on, you’ll find him starring in the movie titled “Thug Life,” which is helmed by Mani Ratnam. This production is expected to grace the big screen later this year.
