DBD 2v8 mode extended for another week, but a permanent stay is unlikely to happen soon

As a die-hard Dead by Daylight fan with countless hours logged into the game, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and anticipation at the news that 2v8 mode will be sticking around for another week! This mode has revolutionized my gaming experience, offering an unprecedented level of challenge and strategy that’s kept me hooked since its launch.

Behaviour Interactive has confirmed that the widely-played 2v8 mode in Dead by Daylight will persist for another week following its reveal as accounting for more than 40% of all matches since its release. Consequently, instead of concluding today, players can now enjoy 2v8 matches until Thursday, August 15, at 8 am PT / 11 am ET.

Behaviour Interactive announced their update through X (previously known as Twitter) and Reddit, receiving a lot of positive feedback from the community. It’s important to mention that the developers haven’t guaranteed long-term adoption yet, stating, “We’ve taken note of requests for 2v8 to remain permanent, and while we appreciate the excitement, this is just the initial version, with more updates expected in the future.”

In this gaming mode, dealing with long wait times due to killer queues remains an issue. Nevertheless, by introducing more diverse killers and enhancing the survivor’s experience, we can gradually decrease these wait times. However, it is unlikely that 2v8 will become a permanent feature in the game anytime soon, as Behaviour continues to refine and polish this mode to ensure it meets high standards.

After the 2v8 mode ends on the 15th, developers plan to provide a comprehensive analysis of the data, giving us insights into which killers and perks were most popular, as well as other significant statistics.
