Cujo Netflix Movie Announced Based on Stephen King’s Thriller Novel

The upcoming Netflix film titled “Cujo” is now in the early stages of production, following Netflix securing the rights to Stephen King’s 1981 horror-thriller novel with the same name. Before this forthcoming Netflix version, the novel was previously adapted into a movie in 1983 by director Lewis Teague.

What do we know about the Cujo Netflix movie?

Roy Lee is set to produce the Netflix remake of the movie Cujo. Currently, Netflix is on the lookout for talented writers who can craft the screenplay for this upcoming production. The original 1983 film featured Dee Wallace, Danny Pintauro, Daniel Hugh-Kelly, Christopher Stone, Ed Lauter, Billy Jacoby, and others. Initially met with mixed reviews from critics during its theatrical release, it gradually amassed a devoted cult following over time, becoming a horror classic.

In the initial storyline, the friendly St. Bernard of the Camber family transforms into a vicious beast following an encounter with a rabid bat. Meanwhile, Donna Trenton’s husband is engrossed in managing a calamitous advertising campaign in New York, leaving her feeling neglected and lonely. As a result, she begins an affair with a local handyman. With her husband often away, Donna takes their malfunctioning Pinto to Joe Cambers’ garage for repairs. However, an unfortunate turn of events traps her and her son Tad inside the sweltering car, thanks to the menacing dog.

As a devoted Stephen King fan, I’m thrilled to share that his latest novel is about to grace our screens in the form of an upcoming movie adaptation! Apart from Cujo, two more of his dystopian masterpieces – The Running Man and The Long Walk – are currently being transformed into films, with production already underway.

On top of that, there’s a buzz surrounding the upcoming premiere of HBO’s It prequel series, Welcome to Derry. This captivating series will see Bill Skarsgard reprise his chilling role as Pennywise the Clown – a prospect that has us fans on the edge of our seats!
