Apple TV Movie Review: Wolfs

The intriguing aspect of the latest Apple TV film “Wolves,” featuring George Clooney and Brad Pitt, lies in the fact that two highly esteemed actors in the cinematic world opted for a seemingly ordinary, unremarkable script to work on together. Is it possible that the lack of exceptional screenplays in Hollywood is so stark, or could this project be a debt repayment of some sort, where Clooney and Pitt felt obligated to participate?

A Different Man is a remarkable dark comedy anchored by unforgettable performances

Initially, when the main character of the movie “A Different Man”, named Edward (played by Sebastian Stan), who has neurofibromatosis, is introduced to the audience, he’s heard shouting and pounding on a wall in an office setting. A colleague peeks inside after hearing the commotion and asks if he’s alright. Edward replies casually, “Yes, it happens sometimes.” The scene then shifts to reveal that Edward is acting as a frustrated office worker on a film set. Once the cameras stop recording, an unidentified director (Patrick Wang) approaches Edward and instructs him to tone down his outbursts for the next take, in order to avoid making people feel uneasy. Consequently, Edward’s intense portrayal becomes less passionate.

The King, the Widow, and Rick: A study in leadership, loss, and survival

As a die-hard fan of The Walking Dead, I’m diving into the sixth episode of season eight, titled “The King, the Widow, and Rick”. This thrilling instalment aired on November 26, 2017. What makes this episode stand out is its exploration of the complex power struggles among our united communities, all under the iron fist of Negan’s Saviors. Much like other episodes in this gripping series, “The King, the Widow, and Rick” seems to be a modern-day parable, subtly mirroring the challenges of leadership division.
