Black Panther 3 Update Hints at Its Release Date Window

Nate Moore, a producer at Marvel Studios, has announced that the third installment of Black Panther is currently being developed, with a planned release date following Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027. Moore discussed preliminary discussions with director Ryan Coogler, provided insights into the movie’s production schedule, and shared information about upcoming Marvel projects as well as his departure from the studio.

Black Panther 3’s release date would be after Avengers 6, Nate Moore confirms

In a conversation with Variety, Moore mentioned that they have had preliminary discussions with Ryan Coogler. After Coogler completes his upcoming project “Sinners”, they plan to collaborate on their next venture. However, this won’t happen before the release of Avengers, which is their immediate priority. Despite leaving Marvel in mid-March, Moore will still be involved as a producer for the film.

Marvel Studios has a number of unnamed slots scheduled for release between 2027 and 2028, which could potentially host the premiere of Black Panther 3. Moore further mentioned, “Of course, this year we have Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four, both leading up to The Avengers. However, we’ll return to Wakanda as soon as possible.” Coogler, who is currently working on Sinners with Michael B. Jordan for an April release, plans to shift his focus towards Black Panther 3 after that. Moore also hinted in 2022 that there were several ideas or concepts under consideration for the third movie.

Initially, it was known that Ryan Coogler was working on Black Panther 3 and penning a role for Denzel Washington. However, later, Denzel Washington admitted that he had spoken about the movie prematurely, saying “Ryan’s a genius. I called him to apologize for discussing the film, and it turned out that his wife was with him at that moment.” It is worth noting that Coogler had not intended to disclose Washington’s involvement at the time.

On August 6, Disney+ will debut “Eyes of Wakanda,” an animated series produced by Ryan Coogler, which delves into the historical background of Wakandan warriors, prior to the film. Coogler holds an executive producer role in this forthcoming production.

Both Black Panther films are streaming on Disney+.
