As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that Golden Globe nominee Adam Sandler seems to be joining forces with Dylan Clark, known for his work on The Batman, for an upcoming Netflix movie entitled “They Were Just Nice People.” At this point in time, the project is only in its infancy stages of development. The dynamic duo is currently scouring for a talented writer to bring this story to life.
What is Adam Sandler’s heist movie about?
Titled as a comedic art heist film, “They Were Just Nice People” is set to unfold the tale of a seemingly ordinary married couple, who by day are school teachers and by night, art thieves. Adam Sandler will produce through his Happy Madison label, in collaboration with Dylan Clark Productions led by Clark. Brian Williams has been appointed to manage the project for Dylan Clark Productions, while Jason Young will oversee it on behalf of Netflix as the streaming service representative.
Currently, Adam Sandler is set to appear in two notable films for Netflix this year, with the first being the much-anticipated sequel to Happy Gilmore, titled Happy Gilmore 2. In this upcoming film, Sandler will reprise his beloved character from the original 1996 sports comedy. The release date for the movie is set for July 25. Notable cast members from the original film, such as Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, and Ben Stiller, are returning to their roles, while new characters will be introduced by actors like Bad Bunny (Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio), Sadie Sandler, Sunny Sandler, Conor Sherry, Ethan Cutkosky, Philip Fine Schneider, Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Travis Kelce, and Blake Clark.
In addition to Happy Gilmore, he’s also set to appear in Noah Baumbach’s upcoming coming-of-age comedy-drama titled Jay Kelly. Notable stars George Clooney and Laura Dern are attached to the project as well. Details about its storyline and characters remain confidential for now. This Netflix production is scheduled to hit screens in November 2025.
