The lineup for “The Hunger Games: Sunrise at the Reaping” is expanding, as Lionsgate reveals that four additional actors will be part of the upcoming films.
Who has joined The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping cast?
The latest cast revelations feature Laura Marcus (from Andor), taking on the role of Silka, a seasoned tribute hailing from District 1. Percy Daggs IV (of Never Let Go) joins in as Beetee’s son and a tribute from District 3. Rada Rae (known for Exterritorials) is cast as Wellie, representing District 6, while Jhaleil Swaby (from The Lake, Supergirl) portrays Panache, another experienced tribute from District 1.
At Sunrise on the Reaping, we find an illustrious ensemble headed by Joseph Zada portraying a youthful version of Haymitch Abernathy, joined by Jesse Plemons as a younger Plutarch Heavensbee. Also gracing the screen is Whitney Peak, who assumes the role of Lenore Dove Baird, Haymitch’s significant other.
Actor Kelvin Harrison Jr., known for his role as Mufasa, will take on the part of a younger Beetee, previously portrayed by Jeffrey Wright. It’s rumored that Glenn Close might join the upcoming production in some fashion. Maya Hawke and Lili Taylor are also set to appear in the film, playing younger versions of Wiress and Mags. The cast additions include Elle Fanning as a youthful Effie Trinket, Kieran Culkin as Caesar Flickerman, Billy Porter as Magno Stiff, and more.
On November 20, 2026, the much-anticipated film “The Hunger Games: Sunrise at the Reaping” will hit movie theaters across the United States, courtesy of Lionsgate.
In simple terms, the upcoming Hunger Games prequel movie is being led by Francis Lawrence, the same director behind several earlier films in the series. The production duties for this film fall to Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson, while Cameron MacConomy takes on an executive producer role.
Billy Ray is currently crafting the script for “Sunrise on the Reaping”. Previously, he contributed to the screenplay of the initial Hunger Games film, which premiered in 2012, and received an Academy Award nomination for writing the 2013 movie Captain Phillips.
