Elden Ring Nightreign Is Getting An Official Hardcover Strategy Guide

The strategy guide for Elden Ring Nightreign will officially become available on September 30th, and you can pre-order it now for $45 on Amazon. Pre-orders for the Elden Ring Nightreign Official Companion Guide went live shortly after Amazon restocked their hard-to-find Books of Knowledge guidebooks for Elden Ring. The Books of Knowledge Volume 1: The Lands Between and Volume 2: Shards of the Shattering had been out of stock for most of this year, as well as throughout 2024. This is the first restock since last December, and both books sold out rapidly then.

The initial two editions are priced at $50 apiece, a deal considering the prices on numerous reseller platforms over the last 1.5 years. Volume 3: Shadow of the Erdtree concludes the set and can be purchased for $45 from Amazon.

Publications from Future Press frequently stay out-of-stock for extended periods following their sale, with no assurance they will be reprinted again. For example, the Dark Souls Trilogy Compendium and the Sekiro guide have been out of stock for over a year and years ago respectively. However, it’s worth noting that Future Press did reprint the Armored Core VI Pilot’s Manual, which was unavailable for more than half a year. Additionally, the Bloodborne Complete Guide from last year is currently in stock at Amazon.

Elden Ring’s Official Hardcover Strategy Guides:

  • Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree – Books of Knowledge Volume 3 — $45

As a devoted admirer, I’d like to share some additional reading materials about Elden Ring and FromSoftware beyond the trio of their official strategy guides. Here are some intriguing books you might want to explore once you’ve put down your controller:

1. “The Art of The Elden Ring” – Delve into the stunning world of Elden Ring through this beautifully illustrated book that showcases concept art, character designs, environments, and more!

2. “Seikiin no Kagi (The Binding of the Soul): A History of FromSoftware” – This book offers a deep dive into the history and evolution of FromSoftware, the masterminds behind Elden Ring, providing insights into their creative process and game development philosophy.

3. “Bloodborne: Cryptic Nights” – Although not directly related to Elden Ring, this book provides an engaging look at the universe of Bloodborne, another iconic FromSoftware title that shares similarities with Elden Ring. It includes a collection of lore, art, and developer insights.

4. “Dark Souls: A Designer’s Guide” – If you’re still hungry for more from the creators of Elden Ring, this book offers an in-depth look at the design process behind Dark Souls, providing valuable insights into the mechanics, lore, and art direction that have become synonymous with FromSoftware games.

Elden Ring: The Road to the Erdtree Manga

In addition to Elden Ring, there’s an official comic book titled “The Road to the Erdtree.” If you’re seeking a dark and intense comic set within The Lands Between, this isn’t it. Instead, “The Road to Erdtree” is a humorous read, and its writing is genuinely impressive. It’s definitely worth exploring if you’re a fan of Elden Ring. You don’t need to have finished the game to appreciate the comic, although having some background knowledge might make for a richer experience, as is often the case with adaptations.

  • Volume 2 — $11.70 ($13)
  • Volume 3 — $10.30 ($13)
  • Volume 4 — $10.30 ($13)

From Software Games – Official Strategy Guides

Last year, Future Press was engrossed in producing literature centered around From Software video games. To commemorate its 25th anniversary, this publisher is re-releasing two of its bestselling gaming books: the previously mentioned “Bloodborne Comprehensive Guide” and the “Dark Souls Trilogy Anthology.” The Dark Souls Trilogy Anthology, scheduled for release in April 2024, offers a comprehensive 480-page exploration into each of the three Dark Souls games. Similar to Future’s Elden Ring guides, these Bloodborne and Dark Souls books were developed alongside From Software. Regrettably, only the Bloodborne book is currently available for a reasonable price.

In case you missed it, Future Press has reissued the out-of-stock Armored Core VI Pilot’s Manual. You can purchase it for $45 from Amazon right now. Here is a comprehensive collection of contemporary strategy guides for games developed by From Software, all published by Future Press:

  • Armored Core 6 Pilot’s Manual (Hardcover) — $45
  • Bloodborne Complete Guide Anniversary Edition (Hardcover) — $51 ($60)
  • Dark Souls Trilogy Compendium Anniversary Edition (Hardcover) — Sold out
  • Elden Ring Nightreign: Official Companion Guide — $45 | Releases September 30
  • Elden Ring: The Lands Between – Books of Knowledge Volume 1 — $50
  • Elden Ring: Shards of the Shattering – Books of Knowledge Volume 2 — $50
  • Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree – Books of Knowledge Volume 3 — $45
  • Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Official Game Guide (Hardcover) — Sold out

On Amazon, you’ll find numerous unofficial strategy guides and lore books crafted by enthusiasts. However, the only officially published From Software guides that are currently available are those published by Future Press: Bloodborne Comprehensive Guide, Dark Souls Trilogy Anthology, Elden Ring Strategy Guides, and Armored Core 6’s Pilot Handbook – unfortunately, the latter has been out of stock since the last holiday season.

Udon Entertainment is responsible for publishing the official art books for games like Elden Ring, Bloodborne, and Dark Souls. In contrast, the art book for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice comes from Yen Press.

From Software Games – Official Art Books

The trilogy of Dark Souls Design Works books were translated and distributed in English by Udon Entertainment. The first volume can still be purchased directly from Amazon, however, the second and third volumes are quite expensive when bought from resellers. If you’re primarily interested in the artwork rather than the text, the original Japanese editions published by Kadokawa can be found on Amazon for a significantly lower price compared to the English edition. As of now, only the art book for Armored Core 6 has been released in Japan by Kadokawa.

  • Dark Souls: Design Works (Japanese Edition) — $33
  • Dark Souls II: Design Works (Japanese Edition) — $43.74
  • Dark Souls III: Design Works (Japanese Edition) — $43
  • Armored Core VI: Official Art Works (Japanese Edition) — $46 ($50)

Recently, Future Press unveiled an extensive, approximately 700-page strategic manual titled “Metaphor: ReFantazio.” Admirers of Atlus JRPGs have the opportunity to own this collectible item, currently available for $45 (originally priced at $55) on Amazon.
