Superman’s James Gunn Teases Favorite DC Project & Why It Hasn’t Been Revealed Yet

In a recent chat, director James Gunn admitted that he hasn’t shared his top pick from the DC Universe (DCU) so far. He voiced concerns that others might copy it. With Creature Commandos already released and Superman and Peacemaker Season 2 on the horizon, production for Supergirl has wrapped up, and Lanterns is anticipated to follow suit next month. As for Clayface, directed by James Watkins, filming will commence later this year.

James Gunn is worried his favorite DCU project might get ripped off by other studios

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gunn shared that the DC Universe hasn’t unveiled his most cherished aspect of the franchise yet. He explained that this wasn’t revealed due to his apprehension about other studios replicating it. “There’s another television show I adore more than anything else in this mix, and I hope it gets produced soon,” Gunn said, hinting at it. He also mentioned that the project has not been officially announced yet.

The filmmaker went on to mention that certain projects were looking promising and could soon be revealed, having been discussed during January 2023. He added, “One aspect I had known about since the start, when I presented my vision of DCU to David Zaslav, was something I didn’t disclose in our initial meeting because I felt it could easily be copied by another company.

Gunn then underscored that this project was “one of the main things” in the franchise.
