The terrors of Derry, Maine, are still very much alive, as the initial trailer for “IT: Derry’s Haunting Past” has been released, offering a tantalizing glimpse into the spine-tingling prequel. With Pennywise set to reappear, this series will delve into the ominous past that has long tormented the town.
A Glimpse Into The Dark Past
The story transports us to Derry in the year 1962, many years prior to the cinematic events. In the trailer, we encounter a young lad expressing his desire to leave Derry, hinting at the ominous town with a troubled past steeped in fear. The narrative also focuses on a black family settling in Derry, encountering immediate hostility and tension due to segregation. Local kids begin probing into mysterious disappearances, shedding light on Derry’s chilling and peculiar history and the malevolent force lurking within it. Lastly, the trailer offers a tantalizing sneak peek of Pennywise, the infamous clown.
The Cast: New Faces But Same Pennywise
I’m thrilled to announce that I, as a dedicated fan, will be rejoining the terrifying world of Derry once more, this time with Bill Skarsgård returning as the chilling Pennywise! Joining him in the cast for this new chapter are some incredible talents such as Taylour Paige, Jovan Adepo, Chris Chalk, James Remar, Stephen Rider, Madeleine Stowe, and Rudy Mancuso. Can’t wait to see what they bring to the story!
The show is developed by the duo Andy and Barbara Muschietti, along with Jason Fuchs, who contributed to “IT: Chapter Two,” and Brad Caleb Kane serving as joint executive producers.
How Long Do We Have To Wait?
In the autumn of 2025, the highly-anticipated series “Derry” is scheduled to debut on HBO Max. The inaugural season, spanning nine captivating episodes, will delve into the town’s dark past. With two additional seasons planned, viewers can look forward to unraveling more of Derry’s sinister history in subsequent years. Each installment will transport us back 27 years, chronicling the return of its haunting presence every 27 years.
The preview is exceptionally exciting and chilling, leaving us eagerly anticipating the experience ahead.
