Ana de Armas Says She’s ‘Obviously’ Working With Tom Cruise Amid Dating Rumors

Ana de Armas recently discussed her relationship with Tom Cruise. Currently, they’re teaming up on a new project alongside directors Doug Liman and Christopher McQuarrie. Notably, both Liman and McQuarrie have often worked with Cruise in various action movies. At present, McQuarrie is penning the script for Cruise’s current movie, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, which is playing in theaters now.

Ana de Armas has frequently been seen alongside Tom Cruise over the past few months, but the actress explains that this is due to their joint work projects. In a recent interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Armas enthusiastically discussed the intensive “preparation” she is undergoing at present, courtesy of Cruise and his Mission Impossible character.

The 37-year-old actress who was nominated for an Oscar shared, “Of course, people are aware that I’m collaborating with Tom Cruise. We’re currently working on a project alongside Doug Liman and Christopher McQuarrie, and these two gentlemen are simply remarkable at everything they tackle.

Armas playfully remarked, “I’m pushing myself with some intense workouts since I’m collaborating with Tom. It’s an extraordinary level of preparation, constantly aiming to surpass the previous best. Moreover, it’s not just about the main training, but we’re also tackling a few additional tasks.” She added, “It’s really enjoyable, and there’s a lot more going on than just what meets the eye.

Moreover, it’s been claimed that sources near the celebrities suggest there was no romantic bond between them. In February, they were spotted in London together. At that point, a source disclosed to PEOPLE that they dined together along with their representatives. They seemed to be discussing future collaboration projects.

At the same time, Armas is set to appear in a John Wick series movie titled Ballerina, due for release on June 6, 2025. In this film, Armas portrays Eve Macarro, a ballet dancer who has adopted an unusual training regimen inspired by the assassin practices of the Ruska Roma community.

Ballerina isn’t just an action movie; according to Armas, it also explores the character’s emotional growth. In her interview with WWD, she said, “The action scenes were abundant in the script, but I could sense the heart of the story too. The character undergoes a beautiful transformation. The emotional depth of the character is crucial in this film, and it drew me in so strongly that I knew I had to be a part of it.
