Five years ago, I was part of an exciting collaboration between The Pokémon Company and the National Museum of Nature and Science in Japan. Together, we created a unique Pokémon-themed fossil exhibit that debuted in Hokkaido and traveled throughout Japan. Now, in 2026, this beloved museum will be crossing the Pacific Ocean to bring its treasures to North America! I can’t wait to see it here!

The Pokémon Fossil Museum exhibit, freshly announced by The Pokémon Company International, will make its way to Chicago’s Field Museum next year. This exclusive showcase, as you can see in the linked social post below, explores the similarities between prehistoric Pokémon and their real-life counterparts such as Tyrantrum, which is modeled after a Tyrannosaurus Rex. This offers a fascinating chance to delve into the field of paleontology.
