Fans of Dead by Daylight have a lot to look forward to in May 2025. The anniversary livestream is approaching, and it’s expected to unveil the long-awaited details about the FNAF Chapter, which coincidentally is set for release in May as well. In addition, a new survivor named Orela Rose will also be introduced. What makes this even more exciting is the possibility that the classic 2v8 mode could return to Dead by Daylight with not one, but two new killers and no bots involved.
BeHaviour tease return of Dead By Daylight 2v8 mode in May
In a discussion forum posted by BeHaviour Interactive, it appears that the game developers are nearing implementation of a return for the 2v8 mode in Dead By Daylight.

The survey for DBD fans queries whether they want the 2v8 mode back in May with certain conditions.

In the questionnaire for DBD fans, the developer asks if they’d like to see a comeback of 2v8 mode in May, subject to these stipulations:
- Addition of The Ghost Face & The Oni
- Addition of the Fog Crystal, a Void Crystal variant
- No bots in the lobby
- No BP event. Incentives will depend on the role ratio, ranging from 50% to 400%, but not locked at 400%
- No XP boosts
- Killer wait time probably similar to the last 2v8 iteration
It appears that the 2v8 mode won’t return until May, assuming a majority votes ‘yes’, not ‘no’. Meanwhile, BeHaviour is actively working on a strategy to reduce waiting times for solutions, though these are expected to be implemented at a later time.
Although we’re yet to confirm if we’ll see the 2v8 mode this month, the introduction of The Ghost Face and The Oni as new killers is exciting news. Similarly, the announcement that there will be no bots in the lobby is welcome, given the heated debates and protests about bot usage back in February.
