In the game Marathon, there are numerous items scattered throughout for players to discover and accumulate. In Marathon games, materials are distributed in designated spots across all maps, though not every map has all types. Generally, you’ll find many materials in several possible locations. To get them, navigate to the spot and start checking containers, as the location of a material is unpredictable; it could be found in a certain container during one game but not in the next.

Resources are categorized into several levels of scarcity, similar to equipment. The less scarce a resource is, the simpler it is to acquire. Conversely, the rarer the resource, the harder it becomes to obtain, sometimes necessitating defeating valuable targets or unlocking secured areas. Furthermore, the space required for items increases as their rarity does.
