As a die-hard movie fan, I can’t help but share my excitement about Glen Powell taking the lead in Edgar Wright’s upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s “Running Man”. Before landing this coveted role, Powell felt it was important to seek Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s blessing – a sentiment he expressed to People Magazine.
My good friend Patrick Schwarzenegger and I recently caught up, and I asked him if it was possible for me to speak with his father, Arnold Schwarzenegger. It’s been a while since we worked together on ‘Expendables’ in Bulgaria, so I was thrilled at the prospect of reconnecting. Fortunately, Patrick secured his father’s approval, and in a couple of weeks, we have a unique, fun gift to present to him from the movie. Needless to say, I can hardly wait to see Arnold again!
In the upcoming adaptation, the character previously played by Arnold is being assumed by Powell. This storyline centers around Ben Richards, a convict wrongly accused by the government, living in a bleak future where he must escape from pursuing assassins while navigating the titled survival game-show.
The film is due out November 7th.
