Tom Hardy Wants a Venom & Spider-Man Crossover, Talks Return Possibility

Actor Tom Hardy has expressed interest in reprising his role as Venom in a possible future crossover with Spider-Man. In the film “Venom: The Last Dance,” which concluded the Venom trilogy and was released on October 25, 2024, he played Eddie Brock, the character known as Venom.

During an interview with ComicBook.com, Tom Hardy shared whether he’d be open to reprising his role as Venom again. When asked if he would consider playing Venom only in a possible future crossover with Spider-Man, Hardy clarified that he wouldn’t limit himself to just that scenario and expressed his readiness to return for a standalone project too.

He expressed, “Yes, indeed, I’m a fan of Venom and enjoyed my work on it. So, no, I didn’t dislike the idea.” This isn’t the first time he’s hinted at a collaboration between his Venom and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. During an interview on The Discourse Podcast from The Playlist, he mentioned that a crossover almost happened but was hindered by studio politics. “We nearly reached a point as close as I could imagine, short of making a film together,” Hardy explained, adding that he would have loved to do so because it would have been a lot of fun.

To put it simply, his primary motivation for having Venom and Spider-Man share the screen was to cater to a younger audience. “It’s really for the kids,” he said. “Grown-ups enjoy superhero movies too, as evidenced by their success at the box office, but I think children remind me just how significant these characters are. They don’t understand why their favorite heroes aren’t in films together.
