The Malayalam mystery crime thriller titled “Rekhachithram” premiered on the big screen on January 9, 2025. Directed by Jofin T. Chacko, this film proved to be a hit at the box office. Starring Asif Ali, the movie has now made its digital debut and will soon have an exclusive Telugu release.

Beginning March 14, the film “Rekhachithram” will begin streaming on Aha. This movie featuring Asif Ali is designed to appeal to a larger audience of Telugu speakers, as it will only be available in the Telugu language.

The narrative of Rekhachithram revolves around Inspector Vivek, who is reappointed at Malakkappara following a suspension. He assumes control over a case concerning Rajendran, who admitted to burying a girl in 1985 before ending his own life. Throughout the investigation, Vivek uncovers a female skeleton and an anklet. His pursuit then leads him to Chandrappan, a former supervisor in production, who recognizes the missing girl as Rekha, a junior actress from Kathodu Kathoram.

Vincent, a prominent businessman, gets rid of Chandrappan and moves Vivek to another position. However, Vivek continues his investigation and finds out from Sister Stephy that Rekha had previously stayed at their convent and then vanished. As he delves deeper, he uncovers the fact that Vincent and his wife, Pushpam, were behind Rekha’s murder. To shield his son from embarrassment, Vincent kills Pushpam before his own arrest.

Vivek successfully finds Rekha’s sister Asha in Kanyakumari and clears Rekha’s reputation. He presents Asha with an autograph from the admired actor, Mammootty. In a bonus scene, a young Rekha stumbles upon a casting call for a film by director K.G. George featuring Mammootty.

Rekhachithram is a movie helmed by director Jofin T. Chacko. The screenplay and story were written by John Manthrickal and Ramu Sunil, respectively. Venu Kunnappilly serves as the producer for this production. Key cast members include Asif Ali, Anaswara Rajan, and Manoj K Jayan. Appu Prabhakar took care of the cinematography, while Shameer Muhammed oversaw the editing process. The film’s music was composed by Mujeeb Majeed.
