Avengers Tower will be under new management in Thunderbolts*.
In U.S. cinemas this May, Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts unravels. Guided by director Jake Schreier, this MCU film follows a group of morally ambiguous characters joining forces to accomplish a perilous task. They find themselves ensnared in a lethal trap set by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, portrayed by Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
What is the new name of the Avengers Tower in Thunderbolts*?
According to Empire Magazine, Louis-Dreyfus’ character is set to take control over the Avengers Tower in the Thunderbolts series, as the structure has mostly been left vacant since Earth’s Mightiest Heroes disbanded following the events of Avengers: Endgame. She will choose to call it the “Watchtower” from now on.
As a gamer, I get the significance of that tower – it’s cherished by countless players. If I were to pick someone who I’d least want holding that symbol of our gaming community, it would be the one bringing a grim twist to our virtual world.
Previously, Schreier’s cinematic works encompassed ‘Robot & Frank’ released in 2012 and ‘Paper Towns’ from 2015. Additionally, he has been involved with numerous television productions including ‘Shameless’, ‘Lodge 49’, ‘Dave’, ‘Beef’, and the upcoming ‘Star Wars: Skeleton Crew’.
In addition to the main characters of Thunderbolts, we find Florence Pugh portraying Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour stepping into the role of Alexei Shostakov, also known as Red Guardian, Wyatt Russell taking on John Walker’s character, U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko playing Antonia Dreykov, Taskmaster, Lewis Pullman bringing Bob to life, Sentry, and Geraldine Viswanathan acting as Mel, with Hannah John-Kamen assuming the role of Ava Starr, Ghost.
Stan described his character’s part in the film by saying, “It’s reminiscent of Al Pacino’s statement from The Godfather III: Every time I try to leave, they drag me back in. Bucky will encounter this group and recognize that, in some sense, they resemble him. So I believe he feels compelled to join them and take charge.
Marvel’s Thunderbolts* will be released in United States theaters on May 2, 2025.
