Ever since the Clash Royale introduced the Chest Key, it has become quite sought-after among players’ inventories. The reason? This handy item boasts the ability to instantly unlock a Chest, skipping the usual wait of an entire day before opening it.
It appears that the era of the Chest Key in Clash Royale is drawing to a close, as Supercell has revealed their intention to progressively remove it from the game over the upcoming months.
What can we anticipate come January? Starting off the new year, Chest Keys will no longer be available in Shop Offers nor as rewards within the Diamond Pass Royale. By March’s end, they will be completely phased out of the game, meaning that anyone who currently possesses them will lose them from their inventory by then.

For now, let’s agree that it would be beneficial for you to begin utilizing all of your Chest Keys immediately! We advise you to invest these keys in opening chests like the Royal Wild Chest and the Overflowing Gold Crate, which have a longer unlocking duration.
Supercell clarifies to players that although Chest Keys will no longer be a part of the game, it’s for the purpose of making room for upcoming new game features. Exactly what these features are or how they’ll appear is still uncertain. However, we can expect to see them introduced towards the end of 2025.
