As a long-time fan of Scott Foley’s work, it’s truly heartening to see him back in the spotlight with his upcoming romantic comedy, “La Dolce Villa.” Having followed his career since the early 2000s, I’ve always admired his versatility and the depth he brings to each character.
Netflix unveiled snapshots of their upcoming romantic comedy film titled “La Dolce Villa“, featuring Scott Foley from “Felicity”. In the movie, Foley’s character travels to Italy to prevent his daughter from squandering her funds.
In a while, Foley takes on his first significant movie role as the main character. Since his part in Marlon Wayans’ comedy Naked (2017), drama Stealing Time (2001), and Scream 3 (2000), this is his latest acting assignment. His last screen appearance was portraying Hayden Wells Garrells in the brief political drama series The Girls on the Bus, produced by Max.
“Successful businessman Eric travels to Italy to stop his daydreaming daughter Olivia from restoring a crumbling villa. Italy, however, has different plans for him as it delivers on its legendary promise of beauty, magic, and romance,” reads the official synopsis.
When is the La Dolce Villa release date?
On Thursday, February 13, 2025, you’ll be able to stream “La Dolce Villa” only on Netflix. This movie is helmed by director Mark Waters from a script penned by Elizabeth Hackett and Hilary Galanoy. The star-studded cast includes Violante Placido, Maia Reficco, and Giuseppe Futia. Notably, Reficco portrays the daughter of Foley’s character in the film. The project is executive produced by Hackett and Galanoy, with Robyn Snyder and Deborah Evans serving as producers.
In a statement, Waters mentioned that we encounter both Eric’s and Olivia’s potential romantic partners, Francesca and Giovanni, right from the start. However, our main characters will have to surmount several challenges, some personal and others circumstantial, before they can find their contentment. As Waters aptly put it, “The road to true love is seldom smooth.” Indeed!
