Why Did Sophia Bush’s Erin Lindsay Leave Chicago PD?

As a dedicated fan, I’ve got to say, there were multiple aspects that ultimately led to Bush leaving Chicago PD. From enduring abusive behavior on set, battling harsh working conditions, to dealing with a toxic work environment that took a heavy toll on both my mental and physical health – it was a challenging time for sure.

Earlier, Bush had a conversation with Armchair Expert about why she left Chicago PD. She expressed concern that her departure could result in job losses for others, but ultimately chose to step down from the show.

The actress admitted that she needed to halt all activities because she had been conditioned to act as a model citizen, a diligent worker, and a helpful team player, often putting her health last while focusing on helping others. She explained this by using the analogy of a tugboat.

Additionally, she spoke candidly about the challenges she faced while working outdoors in Chicago, discussing her worries over the extreme cold, which was “effectively minus 30 degrees.” It’s said that she asserted her superiors had instructed her to stay silent on the matter, or else it could lead to everyone losing their jobs.

Despite not disclosing specific individuals, she spoke about enduring persistent harassment on the set. Furthermore, she confided that during instances of assault, she found herself alone amidst a crowd of people who didn’t intervene.

At the end of Season 4, Erin Lindsay’s character departed from the Intelligence Unit after being dismissed due to her unorthodox actions with a suspect during an interrogation. Subsequently, she secured a place in the FBI, bidding farewell to her previous team.
