As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming experience under my belt, I must say that the new Borderlands 4 trailer has stirred a sense of anticipation within me. My journey through the Borderlands universe began way back with the original game, and it’s been a rollercoaster ever since. The promise of a more ambitious Borderlands game yet, coupled with the return to the familiar yet transformed Pandora, has me eagerly awaiting 2025.
During the yearly Game Awards festivities, Gearbox Software’s Borderlands 4 unveiled its initial gameplay footage. This follows a sneak peek shown at Summer Games Fest, and the fresh trailer provides gamers with their first authentic glimpse into the upcoming looter shooter game.
New Borderlands 4 trailer
Among the select titles unveiled at The Game Awards 2024, Gearbox’s Borderlands 4 made its dynamic premiere. Following a less successful forerunner, this new first-person RPG is making a comeback, but will it recapture the magic of the series’ inaugural and second installments?
Among the recent announcements that also include The Witcher 4, Elden Ring, and an immersive game from the creator of Deus Ex, Warren Spector, the upcoming Borderlands sequel by Gearbox is referred to as “the most ambitious Borderlands project so far”.
Debuting on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and Steam (specifically through Steam), the latest Borderlands 4 trailer continues from where the teaser left off. The trailer reveals a more corrupted, somber depiction of Pandora following the previous game’s conclusion, with players gearing up to confront a new adversary as an epic struggle for the world ensues.
In addition to the enhanced mobility experienced in the earlier version, players now have access to an entirely fresh set of characters. Moreover, the scope of movement has been broadened even more with the introduction of a grappling hook, allowing players to swiftly bridge the gap when approaching enemies.
Gearbox has announced that the narrative will involve players battling to liberate Pandora, a place ruled by a harsh tyrant who maintains power from above. The ruler in question is known as the Timekeeper, a figure of oppression over the populace.
In this futuristic game, ignite a rebellion and charge through hordes of mechanical enemies, ruthless outlaws, and dangerous creatures. Gather an array of devastating weapons to cause destruction as you forge ahead across the world of Kairos. Experience the journey alone or join forces with up to three other players in this sprawling sci-fi adventure, which combines dynamic combat and exploration, heart-pounding boss battles, randomized loot drops, and a colorful roster of memorable characters, both new and familiar.
Borderlands 4 releases sometime in 2025 for Xbox Series, PlayStation 5 and PC.
