As a seasoned gamer who’s spent countless hours immersed in the realms of League of Legends and Diablo, Corepunk has certainly piqued my interest! The Early Access release on November 26th was like Christmas coming early for me. Although it’s a bit inconvenient that I can’t access it through Steam, the dedicated launcher does the job just fine.
In the realm of digital gaming, I’ve stumbled upon a gem called Corepunk. It’s an expansive, online role-playing game that masterfully blends the strategic battles of League of Legends with the dark, action-packed adventures of Diablo.
The preliminary edition of our game has been accessible since November 26, enabling players to delve into it and offer suggestions for improvement.
Currently, Corepunk is not available on Steam, instead, it must be accessed via its own launcher.
Artificial Core Developer promises consistent release of new content, guaranteeing continuous enhancements and growth.
2025, I’m looking forward to finally getting my hands on the full version of this game. That gives the devs plenty of time to fine-tune it using feedback from players like me. Can’t wait!
An overview of Corepunk
An isometric perspective for thrilling battles:
Corepunk combines the best of LoL and Diablo.
From a top-down isometric viewpoint, similar to that found in Action Role-Playing Games (ARPGs), you engage in combat that carries a strategic depth and requires teamwork, much like Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas (MOBAs) such as League of Legends.
Exploration and combat in a dark fantasy world
While exploring the atmospheric universe of Corepunk, you’ll encounter foes, gather gear, and improve your character.
Over 350 quests await you as you team up with friends to defeat 15 powerful world bosses.
PvE Meets PvP in the Fog of War
Corepunk’s Extraction Battlegrounds seamlessly combines player-versus-environment (PvE) and player-versus-player (PvP) experiences, inspiring players to engage in intense battles for valuable resources within ever-changing landscapes.
A notable aspect is the Fog-of-War mechanism, limiting sight to only immediate playable characters and their surroundings. This feature significantly boosts strategy and immersion, providing a gaming experience that resembles the style of Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games.
Furthermore, the server design maintains a balanced distribution of users, preventing congestion and offering more seamless exploration journeys.
Progression and customization through crafting and skills
In the game Corepunk, the progression and evolution of characters are significantly influenced by activities such as making items, collecting resources, and interacting with Non-Player Characters (NPCs).
Players can gather resources such as wood and meat, which they can then use to improve and expand their settlements, and get ready for upcoming difficulties.
Corepunk provides a multitude of chances to customize your character, boasting eight passive abilities and three skill trees.
However, note the difference between skills and talents:
- Talents: Talent trees provide permanent bonuses, such as increased attack power or health. These improvements encourage long-term specialization and strategic planning.
- Skills: Skill points are used to enhance active combat abilities, with points earned through leveling. These upgrades allow for dynamic gameplay adjustments, keeping combat fresh and engaging.
The narrative of the game spans various seasons, centering around the conflicts arising from power struggles among rival groups.
Corepunk offers everything you could wish for in a successful fusion of MOBA and ARPG.
Strategy battles, customizable characters, and a world filled with distinct characteristics create an engaging option for fans of multiple gaming genres.
Reaction from the community
As a gaming enthusiast, I was bummed out to learn that Corepunk isn’t playable via Steam. However, the overall response from the gaming community has been overwhelmingly optimistic so far.
Yesterday was simply amazing as I played #Corepunk on stream! The early access phase is now live! Corepunk is an open-world MMORPG that merges aspects of Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas (MOBAs) and Action Role-Playing Games (ARPGs). It features a map hidden in the Fog of War! Give it a try here:

Other users have previously expressed concerns over the absence of clear indicators for quests on the map and the relatively sluggish pace of the game.
Today, I invested approximately 6 hours progressing through Corepunk, an MMO that doesn’t offer much guidance. Unlike other games, it doesn’t mark quest locations on the map nor does it suggest directions when you have active quests. After six hours of exploration and figuring things out myself, I managed to reach level 4.

I appreciate the sandbox approach in this MMORPG, yet during playtesting, I found it quite sluggish. I’m curious about the necessity of spending extensive time defeating even the most basic enemies, as it feels less engaging compared to faster-paced games like V Rising. What are your thoughts on this combat system?
