In Season 10 of Chicago Med, a secondary storyline revolves around Sharon Goodwin (played by S. Epatha Merkerson) receiving menacing letters. Goodwin became concerned that one of the hospital employees who had been let go due to budget cuts might be behind these threats. A suspect was apprehended for sending some letters and attempted suicide during arrest. Regrettably, the threatening letters persisted, with someone even breaching Goodwin’s home.
In the most recent installment, Goodwin found herself under duress in her office, confronted by a woman known as Cassidy who held a knife against her. Their conversation was tense, with Cassidy lashing out that Goodwin had deprived her of a family due to the death of her wife.
The story returned to the beginning of Season 10, with the hospital dealing with victims from a boat accident amidst a blood crisis. Goodwin found herself in a difficult situation, needing to decide whether to donate blood to the captain who’d been responsible for the accident or a woman whose chances of survival were already slim. In the end, she opted to help the captain, believing he had a better chance of recovery.
Cassidy was deeply upset, instinctively so, as Goodwin opted to rescue the individual responsible for the catastrophe instead of saving Cassidy’s wife. In an attempt to make amends, Goodwin offered an apology, but it was met with a violent reaction: Cassidy attacked her, inflicting a wound in Goodwin’s abdomen.
Is Goodwin dying on Chicago Med?

It’s uncertain if Merkerson is planning to depart from the series, which means there’s a good chance Sharon will make it through. However, she might be deeply affected by the incident, not just emotionally, but also because of the guilt she carries for a woman’s death and for the fact that her wife became a killer as a result of her decision.
Fans of “Chicago Med” will have to wait for several weeks more to find out what happens next with Goodwin’s storyline, as they anxiously anticipate the show’s return.
