As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that I was on the edge of my seat throughout this nail-biting match between DRILLAS and Lynn Vision. The anticipation was palpable, especially with the debut of ohnePixel as coach for the team he has long supported financially.
The squad, backed both in guidance and finances by renowned CS:GO streamer ohnePixel, demonstrated tenacity and adaptability throughout a match where they transitioned from being in command to barely clinging onto their advantage. With this victory, the DRILLAS find themselves one best-of-three series away from qualifying for the Shanghai Major. They will face MongolZ to reach that milestone, tomorrow.

Last week, I had the privilege of participating in an intense training session at the Big Clan headquarters in Berlin, hosted by none other than the Drillas. The bootcamp was a whirlwind of preparation that left us all primed and ready for action.
Under the guidance of ex-AWP player from Monte, Volodymyr “Woro2k” Veletniuk, the team showed up exceptionally well-organized and operating at full capacity.
Drillas securely built up a 12-5 advantage, granting them 7 opportunities to seal the victory. In the initial stages of the Asian RMR, each match is played as a single map contest.
As a diehard fan, I must admit that things didn’t go exactly as expected in the Lynn Vision versus DRILLAS match. Despite my initial anticipation of a clear-cut win for DRILLAS, it seemed like Lynn Vision had other strategies up their sleeve. In an astonishing turnaround, they managed to close the gap significantly, making it 12-11. This unexpected comeback has definitely added a new layer of tension to the game, as DRILLAS now finds themselves in a challenging position, fighting hard to secure the victory.
In the nail-biting 12-11 score, withoutPixel-the-coach called a crucial timeout, sensing our team needed to recharge. At that pivotal instant, he fired up with an inspiring pep talk, reminding us of our hard-earned advancements and the high stakes at hand – our match victory was hanging in the balance.

The timeout served as a pivotal moment, as DRILLAS regained their poise and seized the ensuing round to claim a 13-11 win, thereby avoiding what would have been a devastating upset. Their resilience under pressure showcased their ability to adapt and demonstrate mental fortitude – qualities that will be crucial as they prepare for their upcoming BO3 match against MongolZ, where they’ll encounter even tougher opponents.

Tomorrow’s game against MongolZ is crucial as DRILLAS needs only one more series win to secure their spot at the Perfect World Shanghai Major. MongolZ, recognized for their aggressive strategies and exceptional individual skills, will certainly pose a formidable obstacle. At this moment, they hold the 11th position in the HLTV Global Ranking.
