What happens in the new Red One trailer?

In the latest Red One preview, we find that Evans’ character is forcibly enlisted by an elite team from the North Pole to work alongside Johnson on a mission. Their objective: rescue Santa Claus, portrayed by J.K. Simmons, who has mysteriously gone missing. Potential culprits in this case range from the ominous Krampus to the Headless Horseman.

Following the abduction of Santa Claus, known as RED ONE, the Chief Security Officer at the North Pole (played by Dwayne Johnson) partners with an internationally notorious bounty hunter (Chris Evans). Together, they embark on a thrilling, worldwide adventure to rescue Christmas.

In addition to Evans, Johnson, and Simmons, the cast of Red One includes Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka, Bonnie Hunt, Kristofer Hivju, Nick Kroll, and Wesley Kimmel.

In this rephrased version, the statement becomes: Chris Morgan penned the script, with the original concept coming from Hiram Garcia. The production of the film was handled by Hiram Garcia, Chris Morgan, along with Johnson, Dany Garcia, Kasdan, and Melvin Mar.

Apart from Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the films that director Kasdan has worked on before include Orange County (released in 2002), Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (from 2007), Bad Teacher (premiered in 2011), Sex Tape (released in 2014), and Jumanji: The Next Level (which came out in 2019).

Johnson recently posted the latest Red One trailer on X, accompanied by the comment, “I believe we’ve all created something special, and I really hope you enjoy it. With a career that has been nothing short of wildly blessed and chaotic, I can now proudly say that I have made my first Christmas movie!

Red One will be released in United States theaters on November 15, 2024, from Amazon MGM Studios.
