Supergirl’s Melissa Benoist & 5 More Join Netflix’s The Waterfront Cast

As a fan with a penchant for gripping family dramas and a soft spot for stories inspired by real-life events, I can hardly contain my excitement about Netflix’s upcoming production, The Waterfront. With an impressive cast led by Holt McCallany and Maria Bello, this series promises to delve deep into the tumultuous lives of the Buckley family, whose struggle to maintain control over their North Carolina fishing empire is sure to keep us on the edge of our seats.

Six actors have recently been added to the cast of Netflix’s upcoming family drama, “The Waterfront,” which already features Holt McCallany from “The Iron Claw” and Maria Bello from “The Cooler.

Drawing from real-life occurrences, “The Waterfront” – a series comprising eight episodes – narrates the story of the troubled and disorganized Buckley family. As they strive to maintain control over their deteriorating North Carolina fishing empire, they resort to increasingly risky measures just to keep their heads above water.

As a gamer, I can’t wait to step into the shoes of Harlan Buckley, the family patriarch, in an upcoming series! My on-screen partner will be none other than Mae Buckley, played by the talented Bello. This captivating show is penned and overseen by Kevin Williamson, who has a knack for creating suspenseful stories, as seen in Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and more. Notably, he’s the brain behind Dawson’s Creek, Wasteland, Hidden Palms, The Vampire Diaries, The Following, Stalker, and Tell Me a Story. So buckle up, it’s going to be one thrilling ride!

Who is in The Waterfront cast?

The Girls on the Bus and Supergirl’s Melissa Benoist has joined the series as “the intelligent and hot-tempered” Bree Buckley, while It Follows and Trigger Warning’s Jake Weary is set to play Harlan’s only son Cane Buckley.

Rafael L. Silva (from 9-1-1: Lone Star) steps in as the new bartender Shawn Wilson for the Buckley family, Danielle Campbell (Tell Me a Story) enters as Peyton Buckley, Cane’s wife. Humberly González (Ginny & Georgia) is cast as Jenna Tate, Cane’s ex-lover, and Brady Hepner (The Holdovers) joins the team as Diller Hopkins, a teenager who harbors resentment towards Bree.

In the drama “Devil in Ohio” and the upcoming series “Daredevil: Born Again,” actors Gerardo Celasco and Michael Gaston will both appear frequently as DEA Agent Marcus Sanchez and Sheriff Clyde Porter, respectively. Additionally, Zach Roerig from “The Vampire Diaries” will make a special appearance in the show as Troy.

Marcos Siega (known for his work on Dexter: New Blood) has been tapped to oversee the direction of the initial two episodes of The Waterfront. Additionally, Siega will serve as an executive producer during the production of the pilot episode, working alongside Ben Fast, under Outerbanks Entertainment. This series is being developed by Universal Television.

The release date for The Waterfront has yet to be announced.
