As a long-time fan of Tyler Perry’s work, I am beyond excited about the upcoming Netflix series, “Beauty in Black“. Four years after their initial collaboration, it’s heartening to see this partnership continue to flourish. The teaser trailer alone has me hooked!
Netflix recently unveiled a sneak peek of their upcoming 16-episode drama series titled “Beauty in Black“, produced by Tyler Perry. This is the inaugural series that Perry has crafted for Netflix, four years following their collaboration on the movie “A Fall From Grace”, which was his first project with Netflix.
This storyline focuses on two distinct individuals, Kimmie and Mallory. Kimmie is battling financial hardships following her mother’s eviction, while Mallory thrives as the owner of a successful business. As their paths cross, they become intertwined in each other’s lives.

When is the Beauty in Black release date?
Beauty in Black Part 1 will be available for streaming starting on Thursday, October 24.
As a gamer, I’m pumped to share that Taylor Polidore Williams (from Snowfall) and Crystle Stewart (Tyler Perry’s The Oval) will take the helm in this exciting series. Joining them are some familiar faces: Amber Reign Smith portraying Rain, Ricco Ross as Horace, Debbi Morgan as Olivia, Richard Lawson as Norman, Steven G. Norfleet as Charles, Julian Horton as Roy, Terrell Carter as Varley, Shannon Wallace as Calvin, Bryan Tanaka as Officer Alex, Joy Rovaris as Gillian, Charles Malik Whitfield as Jules, Tamera “Tee” Kissen as Body, Ursula O. Robinson as Delinda, Ashley Versher as Lena, George Middlebrook as Officer Trackson, and the newcomer Xavier Smalls bringing Angel to life. Can’t wait to see these talented actors bring this story to life!
In accordance with Perry’s agreement with Netflix, “Beauty in Black” is penned, helmed, and overseen by Perry herself. The production team for this series includes Will Areu, Angi Bones, and Tony Strickland as well. Besides “Beauty in Black”, Perry also has another project in the works with Netflix – a movie titled Six Triple Eight. This film focuses on the first and only Women’s Army Corp unit of color that was deployed overseas during World War II.
