As a seasoned gamer of Korean dramas and action series, I must say that the anticipation for Queen Woo is reaching new heights! With Ji Chang-Wook, one of my favorite actors, taking on the role of King Gogukcheon Goguryeo and Jeon Jong-Seo portraying Empress Woo Hee, this period-action TVING original promises to be a thrilling ride.


The original K-drama series “Queen Woo” on TVING, a popular streaming platform, features the talented South Korean actor Ji Chang-Wook in the lead role. According to the preview, the highly anticipated Korean drama “Queen Woo” is set to premiere on TVING on Thursday, the 29th of August, 2024.

In this Korean period drama, we will follow an exciting narrative detailing the intense struggle to select a new ruler in the realm, following the tragic news of King Gogukcheon Goguryeo’s passing. This sudden event sets off a vast conflict among various tribes as they vie for power within a single day.

In the latest sneak peek of this upcoming series, I find myself captivated by the tale that centers around Woo Hee, a remarkable woman who carved history as the first queen to reign twice over the Goguryeo empire. As the story unfolds, we witness her relentless struggle against various princes and tribes in an effort to safeguard my tribe and kin. So buckle up for an exhilarating ride into the world of K-drama!

In the upcoming series Queen Woo, actress Jeon Jong-Seo will take on the lead role of Empress Woo Hee. She has made significant appearances in popular Korean dramas and films like Wedding Impossible, The Call, Burning, Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area, Ballerina, and many more.

For now, it’s been announced that actor Ji Chang-Wook will take on the lead role of King Gogukcheon, also known as Go Nam-Mu, in an upcoming series. Known for his roles in popular K-dramas like Healer, The K2, Suspicious Partner, The Worst of Evil, and others, he is currently set to appear in the 2024 Korean action-thriller film Revolver as well.

Aside from me (in the game), Queen Woo’s ensemble features Kim Mu-Yul playing Eul Pa-So, Jung Yoo-Mi embodying Woo Soon, Park Ji Hwan stepping into Moo Gol, and Lee Soo-Hyuk bringing Go Bal-Gi to life. There are many others in the cast too.
