What happened in Oshi no Ko season 2 episode 4?

In the fourth episode of Oshi no Ko season 2, Abiko starts by going to the community theater production that Aqua had given her a ticket for. Upon arriving, Raida greets her warmly. However, as their conversation progresses, Raida brings up the memory of Aqua’s criticism following the scriptwriting incident. In response, Raida defends GOA’s work and explains to Abiko how he personally wrote the play she had just seen. Abiko and GOA write the script together

After careful consideration and recalling Kichijouji’s recommendation, Abiko consents to allow GOA to pen down the script. Yet, she insists on working closely with him herself. As a result, Raida is compelled to arrange a video conference among all the play collaborators – Abiko and GOA included – so they can collaborate in real-time.

Prior to delving into the Tokyo Blade play script, Abiko recognizes GOA’s skill as a writer, creating an amicable atmosphere for their collaboration. Consequently, they spend the entire night fine-tuning the script, ultimately reaching a consensus on its final version.

The new script pleases the cast members

Once the script has been finalized, the actors take a turn to read through it. Their reactions are positive and contentment is evident on their faces. Even Akane, who was displeased with the earlier version, expresses her approval. However, they come to understand that this new script places greater demands on the actors’ performances. As a result, the success of the play as a whole hinges upon their ability to deliver.

During rehearsals, everyone does well, except for Aqua and Melt. Later, Aqua sits alone feeling downcast. Akane approaches him with comforting words, but is interrupted by Kana. (Or) In rehearsals, everyone performs satisfactorily except Aqua and Melt. Later, finding himself alone, Aqua looks disheartened. Akane attempts to console him, but her words are cut short by an interruption from Kana.

Kana encourages Aqua to deliver heartfelt acting, but she acknowledges that he finds it difficult due to his reserved nature. Aqua concurs with her suggestion and queries how Kana manages to convey strong emotions on stage.

I remember times from my own experiences, gamer, and I share advice that generally benefits actors. Kana suggests visualizing your mom’s passing and drawing on those emotions. Moreover, she encourages you to think back on delightful recollections to express genuine joy in your performances.

Sadly, Aqua is deeply affected by Kana’s guidance, causing him to relive the painful memories of Ai’s demise. Although he recalls joyful moments, the regret of not being able to save Ai consumes him, resulting in a panic attack. Consequently, he asks for a break from rehearsals, and his teammates suggest that Akane look after him as his girlfriend.

Akane learns about Aqua’s connection to Ai

Akane proposes reaching out to Aqua’s family for help, but he is halted. Instead, Gotanda steps in and invites him to stay at his place. Later on, Gotanda opens up to Akane about Aqua’s predicament, revealing that he has gone through a distressing experience and has clandestinely been attending therapy. Regrettably, it appears that he hasn’t fully recovered but refuses to disclose this to keep others from worrying unnecessarily about him.

When Akane sits next to Aqua as he takes a break, he mutters the name of Ai quietly. This discovery by Akane leads her to believe that there is a deep bond between Ruby, Aqua, and Ai. Later, Aqua stirs from his sleep and finds Akane weeping, revealing her newfound understanding that Aqua is Ai’s son. Although the show does not explicitly state this realization, Akane embraces Aqua and vows to support him unwaveringly.
