To me, you’re a legend. Moreover, your direction of significant episodes from The West Wing demonstrates your expertise in high-quality political television. Considering this background, did your experience from The West Wing contribute to your work on Zero Day, or were they two completely distinct projects?

In response to your query, Lesli Linka Glatter states: That’s an excellent question! Thank you for asking it. I have a passion for storytelling, and I enjoy crafting various narratives. If I were to share my experiences, I would certainly talk about The West Wing, as I’ve always been fascinated by the inner workings of power and decision-making processes behind the scenes. However, I would also discuss my time spent on Homeland, where I served as a director and executive producer for eight years. Being immersed in the world of intelligence provided an intricate backdrop for exploring multifaceted characters against the broader canvas of their operating environments.

In this story, we delve into a fascinating realm where truth and facts become subjective, often confused with opinions. It’s a world where consensus can be elusive, and the lines between fact and opinion blur. This makes for an intriguing backdrop, especially when coupled with compelling characters who, despite not being clearly categorized as good or evil, possess arguments on both sides that hold merit. If only people could listen to each other, the thrill of unraveling the truth would be immense. This narrative falls under the genre of a thought-provoking thriller.

In terms of miniseries casts, Zero Day might just take the cake. Each principal character is so strong they could headline their own series. Matthew Modine: Essentially, it all started with Robert De Niro. He’s the epitome of this venture, and it was something he had long aspired to accomplish. However, we encountered an actor strike which, in my opinion, fueled everyone’s motivation. Personally, I yearned to collaborate with Robert De Niro, and then there was Angela Bassett, Lizzie Kaplan, Joan Allen, and Connie Britton. It was incredible! Working with such skilled actors is like playing tennis with top-notch players; it improves your own game. So, to have the chance to play alongside these exceptional athletes, if I may say so, was a tremendous joy for me.

Hi there! I have a question regarding Jesse Plemons. I found his performance in the series simply outstanding, and I was amazed by his physical transformation. Could you share your experience of working with him?

In my case, I’ve collaborated with Jesse for the second time. We previously worked together on a HBO limited series titled Love and Death, alongside Elizabeth Olsen. The experience was truly rewarding. As often happens with exceptional actors, there was a strong connection that allowed us to delve deeper into our roles. I felt this bond with Jesse, which made it even more exciting because I was portraying an entirely different character. Interestingly, Jesse had previously worked with Bob, and he greatly enjoyed the collaboration as well.

When it comes to cyber weapons, due diligence is crucial. Naturally, his character is inspired by a real person.
