As a seasoned gamer with decades of Zelda adventures under my belt, I can confidently say that the reveal of the new characters for “Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom” has me buzzing like a Sheikah Slate on overdrive! After bidding farewell to Hyrule following Tears of the Kingdom’s emotional rollercoaster, I’m more than ready to dive back into this magical kingdom with its familiar faces and fresh personalities.
In just under a month, the eagerly anticipated release of “Zelda Echoes of Wisdom” has excitement levels soaring! This game serves as a follow-up to the cherished “Zelda: Link’s Awakening Remake” for the Nintendo Switch. The tale unfolds in Hyrule where its inhabitants are disappearing without explanation, and with the heroic swordsman among those gone missing, it falls upon Princess Zelda to protect her realm.
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Characters
Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom transports us back to Hyrule, bringing on a sense of nostalgia after we thought we were done with our Tears of the Kingdom hangover. To whet our appetite, Nintendo released a new trailer in early August, offering glimpses of various regions like the Zora, Gerudo, and Goron Kingdoms.
Now, we are even more excited as Nintendo Japan just revealed five new characters on 𝕏.

Meet the new faces:
- King of Hyrule
- Minister Sadaari (Hyrule government)
- General Ugi (Hyrule military)
- Impa
- Ruberi (Impa’s older brother, a rift researcher)
In various Zelda games across the years, both the character from Hyrule, who is the king, and Impa have been recurring figures. However, the rest of them are entirely fresh additions!
The New Characters
In this installment, we’re also making the acquaintance of Impa’s elder brother, Ruberi, more famously recognized as Robbie from “Zelda: Breath of the Wild” and “Tears of the Kingdom”. Robbie is a scholar among the Sheikah, specialized in Guardians, instrumental in reactivating their functions, and significantly contributed to Link’s rescue during the Great Calamity.
A newcomer to the scene is Minister Sadaari, an esteemed assistant in the Hyrule administration, boasting unique violet tresses. Known for her stern yet courteous demeanor, she commands respect within the Kingdom of Hyrule.

Additionally, we have General Ugi, a fresh face in Hyrule’s military force. He exhibits a fervent leadership style and has a keen sense of fairness.
It’s uncertain if any of these characters will turn out to be villains, that much is still unknown. However, with their adorable appearances, it seems unlikely they could be anything but good-hearted!
