Zack Tubudlo, Hideki Ito and T33G33 Hit the Road with Levi’s® and 88rising’s City by City Music Series

88rising’s Future Asian Music (FAM) teamed up with Levi’s® recently to launch the Road to FAM series, celebrating diverse music worldwide while shining a light on rising Asian artists. This month, the free, multi-venue event will take place in Singapore, Jakarta, Manila, and Kuala Lumpur, and it all started off with an enthusiastic debut in Manila.

The series highlights the upcoming crop of talent along with Levi’s® creative evolution, as it coincides with the anniversary of the renowned 501® jeans, a wardrobe staple for celebrities across various fields throughout history. FAM kicked off the festivities at Manila’s Apotheka on May 14, and tickets were snapped up within hours. The debut performance was exceptionally memorable as local artist Zack Tubudlo performed in his hometown, joined by fellow Filipino DJ talents Hideki Ito and T33G33.

In a remarkable turn of events, Tubudlo has left an indelible impact on the music world, shining a light on Filipino artistic prowess through his viral tunes such as “Binibini.” This track made history by being the first Filipino creation to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify. To kick off the show, the DJs played a variety of tracks from techno and house to R&B and indie pop to get the crowd pumped. Tubudlo then took the stage to perform his newest single “Manoloko,” along with other beloved hits. To pay homage to the local artistic community, he donned a custom Levi’s® outfit designed in partnership with renowned Filipino fashion designer Rio Cuervo.

In creating the unique design, Cuervo drew inspiration straight from Tubudlo’s music. She revealed that she had “Manoloko” playing in the background as she sketched. The patchwork jacket stands out to her because it perfectly blends Zack’s artistic expression through his music with her own creativity in upcycling garments. Cuervo admits that she was deeply inspired by how Tubudlo’s music heals hearts, and she hopes her repaired pieces do the same for people.

Exclusive Levi’s® patches were made for attendees of the event by the collaboration between Global, Skunkworks, and Zack Tubudlo’s team, with even more surprises to be unveiled at future stops on the Road to FAM tour. The final stop of this multi-city music series, taking place towards the end of the month, will feature Jakarta’s headliner Ramengvrl, who has invited her labelmate KENZ, an emerging Indonesian rapper endorsed by Ramengvrl herself, to join the lineup at ZOO SCBD on May 25th.
