Recently, there’s been a buzz surrounding Yung Filly, the well-known British YouTube personality and rap artist, due to his recent arrest. His fans are in a state of surprise, eagerly searching for more information about the incident. Now, let me clarify why Yung Filly was taken into custody.
In this article, we will delve into the details of Yung Filly’s arrest.
Why was Yung Filly arrested?
29-year-old British YouTuber and rapper, Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, better known as Yung Filly, was recently taken into custody in Australia due to accusations of sexual assault. The incident supposedly transpired in Perth, following his performance at Bar1 Nightclub in Hillarys on September 28, after which an alleged attack occurred at a hotel. It’s reported that he had performed at Havana Nightclub on the Gold Coast merely two days before his arrest.
Currently, Barrientos is confronting numerous accusations, such as four instances of sexual acts without consent, three cases of causing bodily harm through assault, and one count of obstructing the victim’s breathing by impeding it. He is slated to appear in a Perth court, marking the commencement of the legal proceedings.
Law enforcement officials have voiced apprehensions about releasing him on bond, stressing the gravity of the allegations and the availability of CCTV proof. They are specifically concerned that Barrientos, due to his significant influence on social media and financial means, might pose a danger by tampering with witnesses or leaving the country.
During the proceedings, Seamus Rafferty, representing Barrientos, pleaded for bail. His request included handing over his passport and providing a substantial financial guarantee of $100,000 as a personal undertaking. Rafferty maintained that Barrientos’ fame should not compromise his right to a fair trial. He also argued that an outright ban from social media would be excessive. (via Brisbane Times paraphrased)
While the court is still considering the appropriate course of action, a decision regarding bail is yet to be made. An announcement may come as early as Friday morning.
