As a seasoned gamer and long-time YouTube TV subscriber, I can’t help but feel a pang of disappointment upon hearing about yet another price hike. Over the years, I’ve watched my monthly bill steadily climb, and while I understand that content costs are rising, it seems the increases have been coming faster than the latest Marvel series.
This month, there’s an increase in the subscription costs for YouTube TV. This rise in prices is expected to continue for some time with the revised cost becoming effective from January for existing subscribers. New subscribers, however, will experience these higher prices right away.
This week, YouTube announced through its social media channels that the subscription cost for YouTube TV has gone up. Starting now, new customers will pay $82.99 USD per month for the service. However, existing subscribers can continue with their current rate until January 13, at which point they’ll also be charged the increased amount.
A message for our members: we have always worked to offer the content you love, with features to enjoy the best of live TV. To keep up with rising content costs, we’re updating our monthly price to $82.99/mo. (1/3)

This action has sparked a wave of discontent among subscribers and social media due to repeated increases in YouTube TV’s price over the past few years. Initially priced at $35 per month during its Beta phase, it rose to approximately $40 per month in 2019. However, these continuous price hikes have more than doubled the original cost. YouTube justifies the price increase by citing the need to cover content costs, but many users argue that Google is raising prices without good reason, particularly since they’re not receiving any additional benefits and the company is enjoying record profits and revenue.
Regardless, the price of YouTube TV just went up again. For more news on the service, stay tuned to the YouTube topic right here at Shacknews.
