You’re warmly invited to check out the trailer featuring Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell engaged in a comedic battle, set to debut on Amazon Prime Video on January 30th.
In a unique twist, the movie focuses on the chaos that ensues when two weddings are mistakenly scheduled at the same venue on the same day. Both bridal parties aim to enjoy their special day as planned, but they’re forced to make compromises due to the sudden space constraints. The fathers of one bride (Farrell) and the sister of the other bride (Witherspoon) find themselves most affected by this turn of events, frequently butting heads for the sake of their loved ones.

What happens in the You’re Cordially Invited trailer?
The film opens as Jim’s (Farrell) wedding celebration is interrupted by rain, forcing everyone to take shelter inside. Inside, it’s Margo (Witherspoon’s character) who is celebrating. Jim takes the microphone and proposes they all simply enjoy the day together. However, harmony doesn’t last when Margo confronts Jim. He confesses that he will do whatever it takes to ensure his daughter has a perfect wedding day, which Margo finds unsettling.
Witherspoon’s character subsequently vows retaliation against Jim, asserting that he will face consequences for deliberately ruining her sister’s wedding. The following sequences depict Jim being smothered in cake and diving into the water. In his haste to reach Margo, he accidentally pushes a child aside, leading to an awkward dance between the two adversaries filled with underlying tension.
Following further scenes of the tumultuous double and dueling nuptials, Jim learns from his daughter (performed by Geraldine Viswanathan) that Margo might genuinely be kind-hearted. However, Jim remains unconvinced in this belief. The trailer ends with an alligator unexpectedly appearing at the weddings, causing immense fear in Jim.
Besides Meredith Hagner, Jimmy Tatro, Leanne Morgan, Rory Scovel, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Ramona Young, Jack McBrayer, and Celia Weston, the ensemble of You’re Cordially Invited features Stony Blyden. Notably, Blyden, who recently graced our screens in Goosebumps: The Vanishing, will portray the fiancé of Jim’s daughter in this production.
You’re warmly invited to a film that is both written and helmed by the talented Nicholas Stoller, recognized for his comedic works such as Neighbors. This production is a collaborative effort between Stoller, Conor Welch, Reese Witherspoon, Lauren Neustadter, Will Ferrell, and Jessica Elbaum.
