As a long-time viewer of The Young and the Restless, I must admit that the reintroduction of Ian Ward (Ray Wise) and Jordan (Colleen Zenk) has certainly brought an exhilarating twist to the series! Their mysterious return and the revelation of their involvement in Heather Stevens’ death have left me on the edge of my seat.
Ever since characters like Ian Ward, portrayed by Ray Wise, and Jordan, played by Colleen Zenk, returned to The Young and the Restless, they’ve been causing a whirlwind of chaos in Genoa City. A recent episode has revealed that these two aren’t just responsible for the demise of a key character but have also marked another resident as their next target.
Here is who Ian and Jordan intend to target next.
Who will Ian and Jordan target next on The Young and the Restless?
After Ian and Jordan resurfaced on The Young and the Restless, fans started speculating that they were responsible for Heather Stevens’ (Vail Bloom) death. More recently, Ian admitted to this. Additionally, it was revealed that they had planned to target Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) next.
It appears that the antagonistic duo aims to isolate Sharon from her loved ones and possibly have her imprisoned. In one instance, there’s a strong suggestion that Jordan may have been behind the car accident that put Phyllis Summers Newman in a coma, causing Sharon to feel deeply guilty.
Josh Griffith, executive producer of The Young and the Restless, recently chatted with Soap Opera Digest about recent storylines and hinted at future events. “It’s been exciting,” he said. “From the start, we knew there would be another murderer, but Sharon wasn’t going to be a killer.” He continued, “To ensure this was believable, we planned it carefully so that viewers didn’t witness the actual crime and instead found Heather’s body when Sharon woke up.
Griffith suggested that it appeared Ian might aim to take down the entire Newman family, not just Sharon. “I realized we needed someone with a strong motivation for the murder, and also someone whose revelation would be significant,” Griffith explained. “It wouldn’t simply be ‘Who’s that?’ Instead, I began investigating who had conflicts with the Newmans in the past. Our search led us to Ian Ward.
Moving forward, it’s reasonable to expect that Ian won’t limit his actions solely to Sharon in the next episode. Instead, he might target other members of the Newman family as well.
