Young & Restless’ Christel Khalil on if Cane & Lily Will Get Back Together

Viewers of “The Young and the Restless” have been left wondering if Cane Ashby and Lily Winters might rekindle their relationship after it was revealed that Aristotle Dumas is actually none other than Cane’s character, Cane Ashby. Now, fans are eager to know whether a reconciliation between these former spouses is on the horizon. Christel Khalil, who plays Lily, has recently shared some insight into this possible reunion. Previously, Daniel Goddard played the role of Ashby from 2007 until 2019. Despite being romantically involved with Chloe Mitchell and Amber Moore, Cane’s bond with Lily garnered significant fan interest.

It seems that Cane Ashby, also known as Aristotle Dumas, might be reuniting with Lily Winters. Here’s what Christel Khalil hinted about this possibility.

Christel Khalil says Lily won’t get back with Cane in The Young and the Restless

According to Christel Khalil in an interview with TVInsider, fans should not anticipate a resurgence of Lily’s romantic involvement with Cane. Khalil explained that Lily found Cane’s actions and deceit disturbing, and also the fact that he has a professional tie with his father Colin, whom she considers a morally questionable individual.

Currently, she feels as if she wants absolutely no connection with you and there’s no chance of reconciliation, not under any circumstances, given everything that has transpired.

Instead, Khalil encouraged fans to consider Billy Flynn’s portrayal of Cane Ashby with fresh eyes. She suggested that they regard the evolving relationship between Lily and Cane not as a rekindling of an old bond, but as the beginning of a new one.

In addition, during the interview, Khalil shared that she was taken aback by Cane Ashby’s reappearance on the soap opera. She mentioned that executive producer Josh Griffith had managed to keep this secret for an extended period. Khalil further showed enthusiasm over Ashby’s return, describing him as a “memorable character.” Moreover, she commented that his absence in the series was regrettable.

Additionally, Khalil shared that she hadn’t personally encountered Flynn prior, but she had only heard praiseworthy accounts of him from fellow cast members who had collaborated with him.

Every day, you can catch “The Young and the Restless” on CBS. This long-running soap opera was originally developed by William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell.
